Well a few days ago I bought the cycleops jet fluid pro turbo trainer and first impressions were great. Solidly built, easy to put together and a training DVD I didn’t expect to get.
After setting it up I thought the resistance was way too low but then I stuck the training race DVD in the old xbox 360 and got a shock. Following the difficulty read out of the on-screen rider, a scale from 1 to 10 – with 10 being the top gear on my bike, was seriously hard. It was more like a spinning class than a mountain bike training aid. I have never sweated that hard in my entire life.
I’ve just ordered the cadence sensor for my Garmin Forerunner 305 in order to get an idea of how hard that workout is – my heart rate was all over the place.
