Watched the free DVD that came with Triathlon 220 magazine this month put together by swimfortri.com and wow what a DVD. The insight is fantastic and the coaching clear and concise -- being a newbie swimmer I had to get myself into one of these things…For three reasons:
- To get feedback as early as possible from a great coach
- To see myself so I can build a mental image of my technique and improve from there
- TO ensure I didn’t look like a total spastic when swimming in public!
Here is a clip of what came with Triathlon 220 this month:
These guys are based down south so I couldn’t get over to them, which led me to serach for an endless pool near Leeds. I found tricentral.co.uk over in Manchester who I believe are the only firm to have one in the North West. I booked in with a coach called Chris (didn’t get his surname) and he had coached and competed at World Championship level.
The pool was great and coaching was fantastic -- I wanted to post the DVD of the session online but the output files are played by a special piece of CCTV style monitoring software so I can’t rip them to YouTube.
Here are some stills anyway:
The session is recorded by four position cameras and whilst swimming you can see your form in a number of mirrors placed inside the pool.
The session was worth its weight in gold -- I’ll post what we worked on in a later post.
